Though he will always be remembered for his work with goth rock pioneers Bauhaus, Peter Murphy has also built a stand-up solo career over the years. Since 1986, the singer has unleashed a string of challenging solo discs that broadened his output beyond "Bela Lugosi's Dead." While Murphy was recently reunited with his Bauhaus bandmates, releasing 2008's Go Away White, the performer is ready to spread his wings on his own again.
As Billboard reports, Murphy's ninth album, appropriately titled Ninth, will be released June 7. It is his first album since his 2004 set Unshattered. A tracklisting has yet to pop up for the platter, but it will be the singer's first album with the Nettwerk Music Group.
Murphy is also set to take the songs on the road, starting up a month-long tour across the U.S. next Monday (March 7) in Seattle. Check out the dates below.
Murphy was also reported to have been working on new material for his Dali's Car project with Japan bassist Mick Karn, but the latter's passing in January halted the collaboration. It's unsure what will come of the sessions.
