Hometown favorite Jean-Patrice Rémillard (aka Pheek) had been outspoken about his anticipation to perform on the last night of MUTEK. The Archipel label boss has been hard at work on a new project called Climat that focuses on heavily-processed sounds supported by responsive visuals from Patrick Trudeau (aka Diagraf). Using seasonally-based field recordings, Pheek washed a wave of textured ambient noise over the audience while trotting tribal dub rhythms kept the pace invitingly suspenseful. Diagraf's visuals consisted primarily of wire-framed geometric shapes that would pulse along and flicker on screen accordingly. The occasional kick drum would make an appearance, keeping the audience anxiously waiting for a drop. Rémillard had a keen sense of the room, patiently constructing his arcs until surrendering to the floor in what made for a rewarding conclusion to the set.
