Legendary "Wall of Sound" producer Phil Spector has been freed after the judge declared a mistrial, yesterday (September 26) in a Los Angeles courtroom. The infamous Spector was on trial for the second-degree murder of actress Lana Clarkson, who was found dead from gunshot wound to the head in the producer's L.A. mansion back on February 3, 2003. The deadlock came after jurors told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Larry Paul Fidler they were unable to agree on a verdict. A total of 12 days were taken to deliberate, which resulted in a 10 (guilty) to 2 (not guilty) deadlock. This comes only days after a mysterious MySpace account was opened under the name of "Chelle," which posted messages saying "I love Phil Spector" and "The Evil Judge should DIE!!!" Many point fingers to Spector's wife Rachelle Spector for orchestrating the "Team Spector" page. According to the L.A. District Attorney's office, they will push forward for a retrial, giving a statement saying: "We will seek the court's permission to retry the case and begin immediately to prepare for a retrial." A hearing for the retrial will be held on Tuesday, October 2.
