Suave French pop princes Phoenix recently announced plans to follow 2013's Bankrupt! with a new album called Ti Amo. Now, after plenty of teasing, they've finally dropped a new single, along with all the new album details.
"J-Boy" is a synth-heavy dance number that uses guitars sparsely. Instead, frontman Thomas Mars drives things forward with his filtered vocals. It's a fascinating first track that suggests Phoenix won't repeat themselves on the new release.
Listen to "J-Boy" below.
Along with the new song, Phoenix have shared the cover art to Ti Amo, which you can see above, and the 10-song tracklist for the album, which is below.
In a statement, the band said the LP is about "simple, pure emotions: love, desire, lust, and innocence," adding, "It's also a record about our European, Latin roots, a fantasized version of Italy: a lost paradise made of eternal Roman summers (hyper-light, hyper-clarity, pistachio gelato), jukeboxes on the beach, Monica Vitti and Marcello Mastroianni, fearless desire and antique marble statues."
Ti Amo will arrive on June 9 via Loyaute/Glassnote. The band also have a North American tour coming up to show up the new LP. This includes a stop of Field Trip in Toronto on June 4. You can check out the full schedule down below as well, and pre-order the album here.
