Pierce the Veil have returned with their first new material since 2016. The California trio have shared "Pass the Nirvana," which you can hear below alongside an accompanying lyric video.
As frontman Vic Fuentes shared in a statement, "Pass the Nirvana" goes out to the youth of the band's native US with the "many horrible traumas [they] have endured over the past few years" in mind.
"COVID, no proms, no graduations, an insurrection, school shootings. The list goes on," said the vocalist. "Their lives have been tossed around like clothes in a dryer, as the tensions within our country have infiltrated our own homes, friends, and families. To me, the song represents a euphoric detachment from all of that anxiety and stress and about finding some form of peace or nirvana."
Pierce the Veil's most recent album remains 2016's Misadventures. Founding drummer Mike Fuentes exited the band in 2017 after being accused of sexual misconduct that year.
This fall, Pierce the Veil will embark on a North American tour alongside I Prevail and Fit for a King, which includes two dates in Canada.
