Rock legends Pink Floyd reissued their back catalogue back in 2011, at the time remastering the 1994 album The Division Bell. Now, they're reissuing that album again, this time in a lavish 20th anniversary edition that will arrive June 30.
The box set includes a vinyl pressing of the album, which has been remastered from the original analogue tapes. The songs were previously edited to fit onto a single LP, but now the full-length versions are spread across two records. There are also three additional vinyl records: a red 7-inch for "Take It Back," a clear 7-inch for "High Hopes" and a blue 12-inch replica of "High Hopes" with a laser etching on the flip.
Another disc includes the aforementioned 2011 remaster, while a Blu-ray contains the album in HD audio and 5.1 surround sound. The Blu-ray also includes a new video for the track "Marooned." That spaced-out clip can be seen below; parts of it were recorded in Ukraine this year.
On top of all that, the box contains five collectors' prints.
The Division Bell's music was mostly written by Dave Gilmour and Richard Wright, while Gilmour's wife Polly Samson co-wrote many of the lyrics. Gilmour and Bob Ezrin produced.
Gilmour said at the time, "The three of us went into Britannia Row studios, and improvised for two weeks. Playing together and starting from scratch was interesting and exciting, it kick started the album and the process was very good, it was collaborative and felt more cohesive."
As far as we're aware, Pink Floyd still aren't planning to reunite.
