Plan

Hailing from Halifax, NS, this quartet sounds like they were more inspired by the angular progressive Pacific math-core of San Diego's Fishwife than the fish trade of their Atlantic hometown. The Plan's starkly-produced sophomore album finds the band plumbing the depths of their hardcore roots and their obvious Fugazi fetish, which we were first introduced on their brilliant This Time is Not This Place debut, with equally brilliant results. Their music is as unpredictable and disorienting as their random lyrics, and they aren't afraid to show what skilled musicians and ingenious songwriters they are too. Special kudos for continuing a fine Canadian tradition in experimental post-punk noise established by Sparkmarker.
