For followers of Montreal indie rock, it doesn't get much better than this: Plants and Animals are preparing to give their single "Lightshow" a seven-inch vinyl release, and the B-side will be a cover of Wolf Parade's classic "I'll Believe in Anything."
Below, you can see a video of the band performing the song live at Breakglass studio during Pop Montreal on September 24, 2011. They give the climactic tune a fairly faithful run-through, with the keyboard melodies replaced by searing, distorted guitar.
Be sure to catch the band touring North America as a four-piece with a bassist in tow. The bulk of the dates are here, but note that the band has since added new Canadian shows in Victoria, BC (March 20 at Lucky Bar) and Toronto (April 21 at Lee's Palace).
The new LP The End of That will come out on February 28 via Secret City Records. The "Lightshow"/"I'll Believe in Anything" seven-inch will be in stores the same day, and is available on iTunes now.
