Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower

The Inri EP opens with its title track and immediately delves into a deep, dark surge of razor-sharp arrangements and scathing attitude. The title of the new single comes from the Latin inscription that, according to history, was placed over Christ’s head on the cross. It all comes together when you start to factor in the imagery of inverted crosses and frothing lyrics about "that disgusting king.” But this EP presents the Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower as a band that cannot be pegged down. The cover of David Bowie and Brian Eno’s "Boys Keep Swinging” is a raucous tour de force and a definite departure from Inri’s darker tendencies. Hearing the songs side by side shows just how unpredictable this San Diego quartet can be. This EP also includes a remixed version of "Inri” by Nick Zinner (Yeah Yeah Yeahs), which sees the song drag itself into even darker corners.
