The wait for the next record from buzzy emo punks Polar Bear Club is almost over. Here at Exclaim!, we were pretty taken by the Hot Water Music-styled hooks of 2008's Sometimes Things Just Disappear and its more mature follow-up, Chasing Hamburg, so some of us are positively giddy with news that the band will be delivering their new full-length, Clash Battle Guilt Pride, this fall.
Polar Bear Club will put out their third long-player on September 13 via Bridge 9. The album was recorded this past spring with punk producer Brian McTernan. Speaking with Alternative Press earlier this summer, singer Jimmy Stadt admitted that this may be their poppiest set yet.
"Musically, we're really, really playing up our choruses, more so than we ever have before," he revealed. "We have three-chorus songs. We've never really done that. It's great. It just makes sense for us to be doing that now, and it feels good, and we all love it."
Neither the tracklisting nor the artwork has been revealed in full, but the latter has been unveiled piece by piece on the group's website. So far, we know there are a couple of trees on there, not to mention a gnarly hand growing out of a flower. The artwork will be up in full by Friday (July 8).
Polar Bear Club are also gearing up for some dates in the U.S., Jamaica and Europe. Unfortunately, there aren't any Canadian dates just yet. Check out the schedule here.
