When he's not rapping in Too High Crew, singing punk anthems in the Greater Wall or blasting through whipsmart post-hardcore with the recently reunited WPP, Vancouver renaissance man Ryan Walter Wagner records psych rock jams with his Poor Baby project. Today, the group returned with a new three-song EP.
The release is called I Want to Leave, and was written and recorded in a single day in a shed behind Vancouver watering hole The Lido. The resulting songs hardly sound thrown together, however. Instead, they're cohesive and massive pop songs strengthened by Wagner's seven-piece backing band.
