Having already served up their Danger Mouse-produced new LP Evil Friends, Portland-based psych-pop players Portugal. The Man have now got their pals in Passion Pit to mess with the template by letting them whip up a remix of the album's "Purple Yellow Red & Blue."
While the original featured a slinky, tom-tom-whomping backbeat, Passion Pit's redo brings the track deeper into the club via a steady disco clap and more pronounced synth passages. The song still packs in falsetto-sung lines about living in ecstasy, and Passion Pit have now spiked the song with their own brand of sexiness.
Portugal. The Man are currently out on the road in support of Evil Friends, with a Canadian stop at Vancouver's Commodore Ballroom set to go down July 16 and another booked for Montreal's Corona Theatre on September 26. You can see the details on the rest of the trip over here.
