Preoccupations Pair Up with Wolf Parade's Dan Boeckner for "Memory"

Since rebranding as Preoccupations, the band formerly known as Viet Cong have been rolling out teaser tracks from their upcoming debut self-titled album under the new name. Following "Anxiety" and "Degraded," the band have shared a new track called "memory" and it arrives with an accompanying video.

The 12-minute track is the only song on the upcoming album that was worked on in each of the six studios the band spent time in, and the result serves as the album's "keystone."

The final piece of the puzzle was laid in place after securing guest vocals from Wolf Parade and Operators' music man Dan Boeckner. It was originally intended to come across as more of a duet, but according to the Preoccupations guys, "his vocal was so perfect for it that we didn't use Matt's for most of it."

The collaborative track has been paired with an abstract visualization, which you can watch in the player below. Preoccupations is officially out on September 16 through Flemish Eye/Jagjaguwar.
