Prototype

Subjected to an illicit military-industrial experiment in your memory-clouded past, you awaken as the titular Prototype, a living, breathing biological weapon in a hipster hoodie. Your quarantined city's not much better off - you're not the only mutants wandering New York City's ravaged streets. Luckily, you can scale walls, leap off skyscrapers, glide through the air, sprint at ridiculous speeds, turn your fists into weapons and shapeshift into anyone, (which functions as disguise and amusement when going on a murderous rampage as an old lady). Prototype sounds singular, but this super-powered sandbox game is really the sum of its influences - Crackdown's vertical metropolis, Assassin's Creed's urban acrobatics, Wolverine's claws, Resident Evil's viral outbreak, Metal Gear Solid's stealth and inFamous's inhuman abilities. Not to mention the wanton city smashing and taxi tossing of Radical's own super fun Hulk: Ultimate Destruction. But who cares when the pilfered parts combine into such a genuinely engaging, gratuitously violent and wildly entertaining game.
