Public Image Limited's 2013 is looking a little reissue heavy, with news that more of the band's back catalogue will be given a do-over. This time around, Virgin Records will be issuing a series of releases from the group's '80s period as part of the label's 40th anniversary celebrations.
First up is a a 180-gram vinyl picture disc repress of 1986's Album (which had also been dubbed Cassette and Compact Disc, depending on the format it was sold as), arriving October 21 in the UK. Album saw John Lydon and the rest of PiL joined by Afrika Bambaataa's band Time Zone, guitarist Steve Vai, drummer Tony Williams and Cream's Ginger Baker.
October 28 sees the release of a 7-inch picture disc of 1983's "This Is Not a Love Song" single, which will feature the Eric ET Thorngren mix of "USLS1" on the flip.
The batch of reissues closes out with a double A-side 12-inch of the band's "Rise" (1986) and "Warrior" (1989 12-inch extended mix).
In addition to the represses, Virgin will be celebrating PiL, along with the rest of their label's history, at a memorabilia-heavy exhibition opening October 24 in London's Southampton Row.
Earlier this year, Public Image Limited gave their 1978 debut First Issue its first-ever North American vinyl pressing via Light in the Attic Records.
