While it screened earlier this month at Cannes, Pulp's upcoming concert flick A Film About Life, Death & Supermarkets is about to debut in the band's native Sheffield, which makes sense since the movie is about a reunion concert in the band's hometown. Ahead of the screening, the group have let loose a trailer featuring both the band and some, ahem, common people.
Scored by hit single "Common People," the trailer shows off clips of a sparkle-adorned adult choir singing the Pulp classic, the on-field activities of a local football team seemingly sponsored by the group, more down-to-earth shots of butchers, and visuals of lead singer Jarvis Cocker grinding his junk onto a speaker. "He's always been an exhibitionist," a voice explains mid-trailer.
The Sheffield screening takes place June 7 at Sheffield City Hall, and you can see the rest of the European film screening schedule over here.
