Electro-pop-spiked folkie Rae Spoon has announced a cross-country tour in support of the impending song cycle My Prairie Home.
While the new album arrives August 13 through Saved by Radio, Spoon heads out on the road a month later, with a tour kick-off taking place in Toronto on September 18. The trip will make its way from Ontario toward the Maritimes and then slingshot westward. A couple of dates have yet to lock down a proper venue, but you can see the schedule as is down below.
As previously reported, My Prairie Home, is a personal LP that explores Spoon's youth in Alberta and deals with "death, coming out as queer during high school, and surviving abuse." The album was co-produced by Spoon and Lorrie Matheson, and will also act as the score to a National Film Board musical documentary of the same name, which was directed by Chelsea McMullan.
You can sample the set's "I Will Be a Wall" down below.
