Raekwon Teaming Up with Kool G Rap for New Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Dec 9, 2009

Raekwon's return to the mic in 2009 resulted in his epic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx... Pt. II, an album that Exclaim! recently named the best hip-hop album of 2009. The accolades must have been enough to keep Raekwon inspired, as the rapper has now revealed he's working with Kool G Rap, who first started the mafioso rap movement.

In a video interview with All Hip Hop (playable below), Raekwon hinted that he'll be recording an entire album with G Rap. The video features Rae talking with Kool G Rap on the phone, and while the pair don't drop much info, they do mention the collaboration. "Y'all will be hearing this fuckin' album," Raekwon said.

Knowing hip-hop's track record for rumoured collaborations that never actually come out, it's hard to believe this album will come out until we actually have a copy in our hands. Regardless, it's nice to know that Raekwon is still working on new material.
