Clearly, music runs in the family: Rowan Maida is the son of Canadian power couple Raine Maida and Chantal Kreviazuk, and now he's launched his own career under the mononym rowan.
Rowan Maida is 19, and his first single, "Mountains," came out last month. It's an atmospheric, electronic take on bouncy piano pop with R&B-influenced vocals. Interestingly, it doesn't sound much like Our Lady Peace or Chantal Kreviazuk.
Hear "Mountains" below.
Although this is rowan's first official single through his solo project, he's not actually new to music: a couple of years ago, when he was 17, he spoke with the National Observer about his budding music endeavours.
