With 2008 now over and done with, the Raveonettes are setting their sights on the future and announced plans for album number four. Via a MySpace blog post, the band's Sune Rose Wagner said he and Sharin Foo are all ready to head back to the studio and this time 'round are out to "step it up," as they put it, with the help of a proper producer.
"Had a great creative talk with Sharin today and we're so ready to make the best album to date! It'll be released in September and we wanna do a proper studio album with a genius producer," wrote Wagner, who has produced all the band's previous efforts and recently release his self-titled, all-Danish solo album.
"There's only so much you can do in your living room and let's face it, whenever you pull out one of your favorite albums, it'll stand the test of time because of a timeless sound, excellent production and songwriting. Now's the right time for us to step it up..."
Wagner did not reveal who the band are thinking of enlisting to produce the follow-up to last year's Lust Lust Lust, but said before they could think that far ahead the band would have to wrap up a short series of tour dates, which find them making a few U.S. stops but none in Canada.
Here are the Raveonettes' upcoming tour dates, which Wagner say will be their last for quite some time:
1/15 Boston, MA - Paradise Rock Club
1/16 New York, NY - Webster Hall
1/17 Washington, DC - Black Cat
1/23 San Francisco, CA - Bimbo's 365 Club
1/24 Los Angeles, CA - Henry Fonda Theater
