Refused

"Elektra" / "Françafrique" / "Dawkins Christ" (live video)

It will be close to two months from now before fully back-in-action hardcore remodellers Refused release their comeback LP, Freedom, but the band have been previewing new tunes in-concert. A few of those have now made it online via a fan-shot video of their show in Stockholm last week.

Filmed at the Orion on Fire venue, it starts with the quintet launching into the previously teased new track "Elektra," but there were more Freedom tracks unveiled over the course of the night. "Françafrique" comes in around the nine-minute mark and features a few spindly, Bad Company-style rock riffs and Dennis Lyxzén's mix of anguished screams and sassy cries.

Later, the Swedish frontman seems to be talking about the potential for the performances to go up on YouTube, which was almost inevitable, before introducing the hard-hitting "Dawkins Christ." That one starts at the 17:35 mark.

You'll find the show, which also features run-throughs of material from The Shape of Punk to Come, down below.

As previously reported, Refused's Freedom drops June 30 through Epitaph. The band also have a number of tour dates coming up, including a North American stretch with Faith No More. You'll find the full show schedule here.
