The Rentals Compile Songs About Time Tracks for Japan Relief

BY Josiah HughesPublished Apr 8, 2011

Back in 2009, alt-pop luminaries the Rentals launched Songs About Time, a forward-thinking multimedia experiment that saw them posting films, photographs and new songs on their website on a daily basis. Now, the band are compiling 18 of the songs from that project on a new CD called Resilience.

It's not just a physical copy of the online material, however. With all of the profits going directly to the American Red Cross - Los Angeles Region, Resilience is a charitable project intended to raise funds for the ongoing relief efforts in Japan following the disastrous earthquake and subsequent tsunami.

Resilience: A Benefit Album for the Japanese Relief Effort will be released on May 3 by the Ernest Jenning Record Co. The Songs About Time project can still be enjoyed here.
