A year ago yesterday (May 27), Calgary indie-folk outfit Reuben and the Dark released their debut album Funeral Sky on Arts & Crafts. Now, they're preparing to reissue it in an expanded deluxe edition on June 23, and they've shared a video for the track "Bow and Arrow."
The song is a solemn ballad with dramatically slow drums and rich, ascendent harmonies, while the accompanying visuals are in keeping with the music's rustic vibe. The clip documents the difficult home life of a boy who lives on a farm, and he clashes with his father before the whole thing eventually goes up in flames.
It was directed by Brock Mitchell. Watch it below.
The deluxe version of Funeral Sky expands the 11-song tracklist to 17 cuts. It can be pre-ordered on iTunes.
