Rich the Kid has been hospitalized following a violent home invasion involving the Atlanta rapper being attacked and held at gunpoint.
The incident occurred Thursday night (June 14) at the Los Angeles house of Rich the Kid's girlfriend, TMZ reports.
Several masked men reportedly entered the house demanding cash and jewellery, and according to the publication, they were also armed. Rich the Kid (born Dimitri Roger) tried to fight them off, TMZ reports, leading to a beating so severe that he is now in hospital.
This morning Rich the Kid posted a photo on his Instagram showing him on a stretcher and in a neck brace.
According to TMZ, Rich the Kid's girlfriend, Tori Brixx, was also hospitalized, but she was released this morning.
Sources have told TMZ that they believe the attack was an inside job.
The LAPD has confirmed it is currently investigating the home invasion; however, there are no suspects as of press time.
UPDATE (6/19, 4 p.m. EDT): Rich the Kid has since taken to his Instagram to reveal he has since been released from hospital. "I Thank you God we still here, thank you all for all your prayers being in this game you gotta know what comes with it watch for the fakes & snakes the more money the more hate," he wrote. As you can see in his post below, his arm is also in a cast, while his lip is noticeably bruised.
As previously reported, allegations recently arose against Rich the Kid by his estranged wife, who has accused him of abuse.
