Fabled techno pioneer Richie Hawtin knows a hell of a lot about music production, and he's got a decades-long career to prove it. Now, the performer is set to impart some of his wisdom on a select group of up-and-coming musicians.

Hawtin is the next artist tapped to host the RBC Master in Residence program for the National Music Centre. He'll be posted up at Calgary's Studio Bell in late June.

Up-and-coming artists from across the country are encouraged to apply for the program, which will see Hawtin offer private mentoring. Applications can be sent in here. Hawtin will also host a public event on June 28.

"Canada continues to deliver some of the most innovative and popular musicians in the field of electronic music," Hawtin said in a statement. "In celebration of our country's continuing contribution, and to help in its future development, I'm excited to visit Studio Bell, home of the National Music Centre, and to work with DJs and producers from across the nation to share some of my insight and experience."

In addition to his National Music Centre appearance, Hawtin will perform at the Hifi Club on June 28 as part of the club's 12 year anniversary celebration.
