Ricky Gervais Announces David Brent Album

BY Josiah HughesPublished Sep 15, 2015

Earlier this year, we learned that Ricky Gervais is bringing back his David Brent character for a new movie called Life on the Road. Now, the comedian has unveiled that there'll be a David Brent album too.

In an update on his website [via NME], Gervais said, "We've decided to put out a soundtrack album too. On Juxtaposition Records of course."

As anyone who watched the UK Office will surely remember, Juxtaposition Records was the label responsible for Brent's "Freelove Freeway," not to mention his life-ruining, expensive video for "If You Don't Know Me By Now." Gervais has previously said that he wrote all new David Brent songs for the film.

In the update, Gervais also revealed some details about the Life on the Road shooting script.

"Finished the shooting script for Life On The Road," he said. "Now that movie is 110 pages of pure joy. Delusion, desperation and excruciating social faux pas; all wrapped up in one little middle-aged rep on his continued quest for fame and acceptance."

Stay tuned for more information about Life on the Road and its accompanying soundtrack as it becomes available.
