During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (January 29) in support of his latest country album Look Up, Ringo Starr was ready to address any rumours about himself. In his decades-long career, that could be absolutely anything — however, the former Beatle decided to clear up the most pressing rumour of all, much to the shock of the live studio audience.
"I've never had pizza. Or curry," Starr revealed. "Well, I'm allergic to several items, and with pizza, you don't know what you're putting in half the time. Or the curry. So I'm pretty strict with myself because it makes me ill immediately." Fair enough!
Jimmy Kimmel teased, "I used to think you had the greatest life, and now I realize mine is better."
Another rumour that Starr discussed on the show was that he does, in fact, know how to knit, a skill he learned while he was hospitalized at 13. He also shared that a lady who came in to entertain him gave him a small drum, which made him realize that he "only ever wanted to be a drummer."
Despite the fact that Starr had never eaten a pizza, he famously appeared in a Pizza Hut commercial in 1995.
We'll have to see if these rumours will be addressed in the upcoming Ringo biopic starring Barry Keoghan.
