Now that Walter Schreifels has wrapped up those reunion dates with Quicksand, the post-hardcore icon is back to focusing on his Rival Schools project. While the band is reportedly prepping new material, we'll first get an official release of the group's lost sophomore set Found.
A press release confirms that the 11-song album finally gets its proper release April 9 through SRC Vinyl. The sessions had been tracked ten years ago, following the band's promotional run behind their 2001 debut United By Fate. Rival Schools had been undergoing some restructuring at the time, with former Orange 9mm guitarist Chris Traynor subbing for original guitarist Ian Love, who had left the band due to road fatigue. The band shelved the LP and went on hiatus on 2003, but the album still made its way onto the internet.
Now, after years of digital bootlegging, the LP has been remastered and christened Found. You can check the tracklisting, which includes a cover of the Buzzcocks' "Why Can't I Touch It," down below.
The press release didn't give too many details on Rival Schools next step, but noted the band are in fact working on new material. This will be the first brand new music from the band since their 2011 reunion set Pedals.
As previously reported, SRC Vinyl are giving Quicksand's 1995 effort Manic Compression a vinyl re-press on February 26.
