Robin Finck Returns to Nine Inch Nails

Earlier this week, bassist Eric Avery announced that he had pulled out of the upcoming Nine Inch Nails reunion tour, citing a busy schedule playing with Garbage and outside film work as a couple of reasons for his departure. But, just like a hydra, Trent Reznor's current live lineup has already rebounded from the loss by adding another member: longtime collaborator Robin Finck.

Reznor revealed the news via Twitter this morning (May 17), posting a picture of the band rehearsing with Finck along with the message: "It just didn't feel like @NineInchNails without Robin Finck. Now it does."

NIN's Tumblr has a few more pics of the band jamming, and it looks as if Finck will resume his former six-string duties, while Josh Eustis has switched to bass.

Finck's history with Reznor dates back a couple of decades, having first joined Nine Inch Nails' live band in 1994 in support of The Downward Spiral. He has left the band and returned a few time before, having last played in the live band in 2009.

"We are deep in the rehearsal process and it feels exciting and great to be back at this," Reznor wrote on Tumblr. "Lots of information, surprises and sweat headed your way."
