Last night (February 24), the Sixto Rodriguez-starring Searching for Sugar Man won the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Thanks in large part to this flick, Rodriguez's cult fame now extends well beyond South Africa, and the Detroit-based musician will take advantage of this by touring in North America this spring.
The month-long outing runs from early April to early May. In that time, he will play a string of U.S. dates and make his way up to Canada for another Vancouver appearance on April 26. See the full docket down below.
Rodriguez recently told Rolling Stone that he has written a batch of about 30 new songs and that he may record them with Steve Rowland, who produced 1970's Coming from Reality.
