We're just a couple of weeks away from the release of the Rolling Stones' goodies-loaded deluxe edition of Sticky Fingers, but the band have unveiled another early preview for you to grab onto ahead of the June 9 street date through Universal Music. This time, they're presenting us with an alternate take of "Dead Flowers."
How is it different than the version found on the 1971 LP? Well, it's a little looser, with Mick Taylor and Keith Richards' bluesy licks landing both gnarlier and more in-the-red, sounding as if they were captured during a drunken performance at a backwoods C&W bar.
Mick Jagger doesn't seem to enunciate his lines with as much of a faux-Western drawl, though those Americanized r's are still a little on the nose. Still present are those acidic, junk-soaked lines slagging the "Queen of the Underground."
You can give the uncovered alternate take a spin down below.
