Though it may be more shocking to music fans that the band were still together until recently, glam rock veterans Roxy Music have clarified that they are, in fact, broken up.
The art rock pioneers haven't released album since their 1982 LP Avalon, but reunited in 2001 and have toured and headlined festivals occasionally since then.
But according to a recent Rolling Stone interview with guitarist Phil Manzanera, the band are no longer together. They haven't toured or recorded for three years and he believes that the break will extend indefinitely.
"I don't think we're going to do any more shows," he told the magazine. "I think our job is done. When we stopped touring in 2011, Andy [Mackay] and I looked at each other and said, 'Our job is done here.'"
Fans still have something to be excited about, though, with Manzanera revealing that Roxy Music will be releasing box sets of their first two albums next year.
As for catching the band live, Bryan Ferry is still touring and performing Roxy Music material, while Manzanera says in the interview that he would be happy to play in David Gilmour's touring band if the opportunity arises.
