Before Ali and Foreman went toe-to-toe in one of the world's largest sporting events, musicians also travelled to Zaire in 1974 for the "African Woodstock. Though it's James Brown that's talked about most frequently in these legendary performances, it was the crowd favourite Fania All-Stars who were asked to deliver an encore presentation two nights later. Presented by When We Were Kings director Leon Gast, this DVD is broken into two portions, with a documentary on the All-Stars that is blended so well with their performance and sound checks, leaving no room for dialogue and just pure salsa heat. Celia Cruz takes centre stage in the second portion, as the energetic vocalist's moves on stage causes the 80,000 in attendance to lose their marbles to "Kymbala and bust a move wherever they can find room. Hell, you're likely to break into a routine on your coffee table.
