Run Chico Run

Hailing from western Canada, Run Chico Run are part of that new wave of post-fun poking jagged garage love pop à la the Unicorns, Erase Errata and Xiu Xiu. Whereas the other side of the music stream consists of garage rock, this side contains driving saturated grainy keyboards like an angry yet geekier type of indie Yes meets debut-era Elvis Costello with an affinity to the Beatles (closet or otherwise). There's enough ideal awkward punk style breaks in the beats and minor explosions like popping zits each time the keys make a change. Perfect stuff. If the Unicorns are doing it why can't they?
