RZA Joins Cast of Californication

While his recent absence from the Wu-Tang Clan's North American tour led to some legal trouble, legendary producer and rapper the RZA has been busy with a burgeoning film career. Aside from high-profile appearances in Funny People, Due Date and Ghost Dog, RZA has been developing a kung-fu film. As if that's not enough, the rapper has just been confirmed as a reoccurring character on David Duchovny's sultry cable show Californication.

Consequence of Sound points to a report from TVLine that confirms RZA will join the cast for the upcoming fifth season of Californication. The rapper will play the role of a dangerous hip-hop mogul who Duchovny's character considers writing a movie for. The best part of the casting? RZA's character has tentatively been given the name Apocalypse.

That doesn't mean RZA has completely abandoned music, however, as he continues to occasionally leak rarities to his SoundCloud page through his "Wu Wednesdays" tag on Twitter. The most recent is a track called "Easy Street," which can be streamed below.
