Sam Smith has announced plans for their third full-length record. To Die For arrives May 1 via Capitol Records.
Earlier this week, we received news that Smith plans to release a single by the same name this Friday (February 14), and while that remains true, it appears they have been busier in the studio than they initially let on.
The artist made the record announcement today via their Instagram account.
"I am more proud of this album than anything I've ever done," Smith said in the post. "I've really set myself free the last two years whilst writing this and I hope you can dance and relate to these stories. It's all for you, always xx."
As previously reported, the record's forthcoming lead single has been described as a "soothing, heartfelt ballad" that opens with a sample from Donnie Darko. Stay tuned for that track tomorrow.
To Die For will mark Smith's follow up to 2017's The Thrill of It All. Smith's most recent singles were a cover of Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" with Disclosure and "Dancing with a Stranger" featuring Normani.
