Sanctuary Records Shut Down

BY Cam LindsayPublished Nov 17, 2016

In a similar move to the North American branch of V2, Sanctuary Records has announced it will stop releasing new material as of this summer. Like V2, nothing will change in the UK’s operations, but in North America the label will solely operate as a catalogue label as well as run a licensing division. As of June 30, all staff including marketing, publicity and sales personnel will be redundant, and artists such as Morrissey, Motörhead, and the Cranberries’ Dolores O’Riordan and Idlewild, both of whom have brand new releases, will be homeless on this continent.
