Saves the Day Celebrate 15th Anniversary of 'Through Being Cool' with Vinyl Reissue

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Nov 7, 2014

Last Sunday (November 2) officially marked the 15th anniversary of New Jersey outfit Saves the Day's sophomore album Through Being Cool, so Equal Vision has decided to celebrate by giving the 1999 record a new vinyl pressing.

Rumours of a new wax edition had been floating for the last couple of months, but the label confirmed the release today (November 7) by floating a pre-order link fans' way over Twitter. While the original editions served up in 1999 appeared on black, blue and white wax, the new pressing of 1,000 copies comes on blue/white split vinyl. According to the listing, the album has been remastered for vinyl and comes with a download code.

The LP found the outfit changing directions from their melodic hardcore-styled 1998 debut Can't Slow Down by, well, slowing down towards an even more melodic pop punk style. At the time, Exclaim! praised the set, noting it "offers up a dozen tasty slices of melodic, aggressive emo rock" that would please fans of Samiam and Jawbreaker. You'll find a video for the set's "Shoulder the Wheel" down below.

Equal Vision also just delivered a second pressing of Saves the Day's 2013 self-titled album on white vinyl, and a 7-inch single for the album's "The Tide of the Times" that features B-side "Everlasting Everything" on the flip. You'll find info on both releases here.
