There's a sense of the organic to be found within the music and visuals that Dan Hayhurst and Reuben Sutherland put on display as Sculpture. The extremely detailed imagery slathered onto the surface of the duo's vinyl LPs and singles is symbiotic with their flamboyant and cosmic electronic music style. Theirs is an effervescent dub borne from the stuttering movements of a hyperactive robot, complete with spiralling animated objects that appear to catapult from the turntable as the platter revolves. There just isn't anyone else making this kind of art these days, so Sculpture releases are always well received.
Membrane Pop is the pair's debut on the Software imprint, arriving hot on the heels of a self-released single that was unleashed earlier this year. Immediately evident is a cooling down of sorts from the completely bizarre antics of 2012's Slime Code album, as the duo demonstrate a heightened awareness of pop forms (as evinced on the particularly catchy "Hackle Scam Populator").

"Unhitch Your Program" chatters away like a loquacious software entity, while "Distraction Display" shows off a slight tendency towards ambient mood music.
