Shad and Dallas Green Team Up for Two Songs

BY Alex HudsonPublished Jan 5, 2011

Dallas Green has displayed a penchant for genre-hopping. He first made a name for himself as a member of screamo act Alexisonfire, later branching out with his folksy City & Colour solo project. Now, Green will venture into the world of hip-hop, teaming with beloved Canadian rapper Shad on a new single, due January 11.

The collaboration is functionally titled Two Songs, and it's being released under the name Shad & Dallas. It will be available digitally and on twelve-inch vinyl through a partnership between Dine Alone and Black Box. The release features two tracks (obviously): the brand new A-side "Live Forever" and a B-side remix of Shad's "Listen," which features vocals from Green.

In a press release, Green said, "I've always wanted to sing the hook on a hip-hop jam... you know, to be the Mary J. Blige to someone's Method Man. Shad gave me that chance. He is my favourite rapper. He raps better than most people speak. I'm proud to sing on a track with him."

All profits from the single will go to Skate4Cancer. The vinyl will come in a DJ sleeve, which you can see above. Click on the embedded video below to hear "Live Forever."

You can order the vinyl at Shad's online store or at City and Colour's web shop.
