Zooey Deschanel is no stranger to celluloid, and now the singer-actress has combined her talents by directing the music video for her band She's & Him's song "I Could've Been Your Girl" from Volume 3.
The clip for this sugary slice of bubblegum melancholia finds Deschanel and a troupe of dancers doing an exceptionally '60s-looking routine. Her collaborator M. Ward, meanwhile, looks disinterested while reading the paper and eventually picking up his guitar to play a few twangy licks.
Deschanel said in a statement, "After 7 years and 4 albums with She & Him, I figured it was about time I took a crack at making a video for a song I wrote. The process was so much fun, and gave me a chance to give a nod to some of my favorite 60's musicals."
