A few seasons after retro pop duo She & Him delivered their conveniently titled third LP, Volume 3, the project have announced they've rearranged a few of those cuts for a new EP dubbed The Capitol Studios Session.
A press release from Merge confirms that the mini-collection is due out digitally on December 2, and as that EP title hints at, it features songs recorded by She & Him at the fabled Capitol Studios in Hollywood, CA.
The session was recorded last June by Larry Crane and featured the full live-band lineup tackling four tracks from Volume 3. The results are described as both more intimate than the LP versions and as featuring "looser arrangements characteristic of the band's live performances."
In addition to She (Zooey Deschanel) and Him (M. Ward), the band includes Abigail Chapin, Lily Chapin, Mike Coykendall, Tom Hagerman, Scott McPherson and Chris Scruggs.
