It looks as if there will be even more evenings with Sigur Rós this fall than we had originally thought. The Icelandic post-rock favourites have announced they've extended their upcoming trek, with a second show added in Vancouver.
A press release confirms that, due to "overwhelming demand," the band have added dates to their forthcoming "An Evening with Sigur Rós" trip. The tour now starts a day earlier, with the act delivering a two-night stand at Vancouver's Queen Elizabeth on September 18 and 19. They've also slotted in a second show at Brooklyn's Kings Theatre on October 7.
As previously reported, the trip also hits Toronto's Massey Hall on October 3. You'll find the updated itinerary below.
The month-long trek is being promoted as "the band's most intimate tour in a decade," with the stage setup eschewing brass and string sections to focus on the core unit of Sigur Rós.
Across two sets a night, they'll be road-testing new material and reinterpreting material "that haven't been played in a very long time."
Tour dates:
09/18 Vancouver, BC - Queen Elizabeth Theatre
09/19 Vancouver, BC - Queen Elizabeth Theatre
09/20 Seattle, WA - Paramount Theatre
