Monteal-based experimental pop-punk project SILLY released the album 0 Views last year. Now, following the mixtape Some Listens, songwriter Josiah Hughes (who, full disclosure, is a former Exclaim! editor) is continuing to flesh out the album's sonic world with the EP Fewer Views.
The album includes a few alt versions of songs from 0 Views: there's a sped-up oompah take on "Bozos," an acoustic version of "Regardless" (featuring backmasking and trippy editing), and two covers: "The Plan" by Built to Spill and "Mayonaise" by the Smashing Pumpkins.
Closer "The Drums from 0 Views" is exactly what it sounds like — a chaotic sound collage with all of the drums tracks from 0 Views' 10 tracks laid over top of one another, kind of like when Mount Eerie released a version of his albums Clear Moon and Ocean Roar with all of the songs playing simultaneously.
