"If it isnt broke, dont fix it best describes Arrivals and Departures, a melodic- and pop-influenced album that occasionally brushes against post-hardcore bouts. Silverstein havent strayed far at all from Discovering The Waterfront with their sound, tempo or screamo ways. The introductory of "Sound Of The Sun has a different aspect, however something you may have heard on the last Dredge album. Otherwise, Arrivals and Departures picks up where they left off with Shane Tolds scream, the angular guitar riffs and semi-breakdowns. This sound structure repeats itself for the first three songs until Silverstein transition to a softer style. When "Worlds Apart starts it gives flashbacks of "Discovering The Waterfront, except this time around theres a little faster pace. The hardest song on the album is easily "My Disaster, but even so it isnt very fierce. Its not always easy to reproduce a great album its ridiculously hard but they have delivered a handful of solid tracks. Nothing makes this CD dreadful. At the same time, there isnt anything that makes it a pillar in their discography.
