Earlier this year, Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel scheduled what was to be their only 2010 live performance on April 24 at the New Orleans Jazz Festival. All of a sudden, that solitary date looks to be turning into what might be a full-fledged tour.
As the Examiner and Rolling Stone report, the duo have now scheduled performances in Winnipeg on May 5 (with some West coast dates allegedly pending), in Fargo, ND on May 7 and in Twin Cities, MN on May 8. Look at a map and that starts to look just a little like the makings of a 2010 North American tour.
While Simon & Garfunkel have yet to confirm these dates, Ticketmaster has posted the American shows, which should (we stress, should) mean they're legit.
The band's Winnipeg date will mark the first time they've played a Canadian show since the Toronto stop on their 2003 Old Friends tour. Since then, the duo have toured only sporadically.
Tour dates so far:
4/24 New Orleans, LA - New Orleans Jazz Festival
5/5 Winnipeg, MB - TBD
5/7 Fargo, ND - Fargodome
5/8 Twin Cities, MN - Xcel Energy Centre
