Four years after first hearing it on the big screen, Vancouver soundscaper Sinoia Caves (a.k.a. Black Mountain synth wizard Jeremy Schmidt) is about to have his score to whacked-out sci-fi flick Beyond the Black Rainbow issued on vinyl. But before it lands September 2 via Jagjaguwar/Death Waltz, you can stream the synth-strewn soundtrack on Exclaim.ca
As previously reported, the seven-song effort is described as "haunting, uncompromising [and] intense," as evidenced by the spine-chilling sine waves of the John Carpenter-inspired "Forever Dilating Eye." Other moments to look out for include the retro-futurist, faux-pipe organ pump of "1983 - Main Titles," and the epic discordant cloud of siren sounds and Transformer voices that fuse together on the airy and uncomfortable "1966 – Let the New Age of Enlightenment Begin."
You'll find those creeped-out flashes and more via the stream down below.
UPDATE: This stream was available for one week only and is no longer available.
