Long-running Ohio thrash blasters Skeletonwitch are going to sound a bit different on next month's Decibel Magazine Tour, as the band have announced they have a new singer. The group officially announced today (February 10) that Wolvhammer vocalist Adam Clemans has joined the fold.
The band had been teasing the announcement recently but fully acknowledged over social media today that their new frontman is Clemans. It's explained in a video interview with Clemans that he had met the rest of Skeletonwitch in 2005, while Wolvhammer had toured with the band in 2013.
A press release confirms that the band entered Baltimore, MD's Developing Nations studio with producer Kevin Bernsten (Magrudergrind, Noisem, Mutilation Rites) to track an EP with their new vocalist. A release date has not yet been pegged, but it's expected to arrive in the summer. You can see some footage of Clemans shrieking in the studio down below.
"I'm very proud to be a part of the Skeletonwitch camp, and I'm very excited about how the new EP turned out," said Clemans in a statement. "Working with like-minded musicians is always a pleasure, and I'm confident that the new chapter of this band will carry the Skeletonwitch banner properly and proudly."
Founding Skeletonwitch vocalist Chance Garnette left the project during a tour in 2014, citing "family issues." He was charged with assault and battery on a family/household member in 2014 and would later say that the band fired him over his alcohol abuse. He was temporarily replaced by Cannabis Corpse's Andy Horn.
Clemans' debut with Skeletonwitch is March 17 in Baltimore, while the Decibel Magazine Tour hits Vancouver and Toronto in April. The trip also features Abbath, High on Fire and Tribulation. You'll find the itinerary below.
Skeletonwitch's last full-length release was 2013's Serpents Unleashed.
