The Toronto jazz trio and Montreal rapper are currently on tour together

Montreal rapper and Exclaim! New Fave Skiifall has had a breakout year, including the release of WOIIYOIE TAPES Vol. 1 — one of the best EPs of the year, featuring one of the best songs of the year — and his current slot opening for BADBADNOTGOOD on their Canadian tour, themselves having just released one of the best albums of 2021 in Talk Memory. Now, the tourmates have teamed up for a new collaborative single, "Break of Dawn," which is out now.

Featuring production work by fellow Canadians the Kount and YAMA//SATO, "Break of Dawn" finds BBNG holding it down with a dubby instrumental, atop which Skiifall drops woozy rap flows and sung hooks in Patois, culminating in an uplifting spoken word section. It's an atmospheric affair that finds both acts at their most relaxing, undoubtedly unwinding after the big years they've had.

BADBADNOTGOOD and Skiifall are currently in the middle of their Canadian tour, which stops off in Winnipeg tonight and will head to Victoria, Vancouver, Montreal, Ottawa and Quebec City before ending in Toronto on December 22.

"Break of Dawn" is available on streaming services. Listen to it below.
