With their 1992 Canadiana classic, Restless lost in label limbo, the venerable roots rockers resurrected the original demos, dusted them off and assembled this quasi-reissue of some of their best-loved songs. Many of the versions are indistinguishable from the originals ("Slow Burnin' Fire"), while others miss the sheen of John Oliveira's original production ("Accusations"). The single, "A Penny More," gets a full Crazy Horse freak out that captures the intensity they can achieve at their live shows. This won't convert anyone who underrates the band for their predictability, but does restore a collection of songs that deserves to endure.
